Before KISS dropped their full Revenge album on May 19, 1992, they gave fans an explosive preview on April 18 with the release of the first single and music video: “Unholy.”

The video introduced a darker, heavier KISS, pounding through the track with a renewed edge. And the first member to appear? Naturally, Bruce Kulick.

Bruce kicked off the song with that iconic intro riff, played on a guitar fans had never seen him use before — a Flying V. But not just any Flying V — this was the rare Gibson V90, finished in Nuclear Yellow.

He’d go on to wield that same guitar during many shows on the Revenge club tour that followed, marking a new era for the band.

Today, Bruce’s legendary Gibson V90 lives on display at The Music Shop in Terre Haute, Indiana — fittingly, the birthplace of the KISS Army.
