Featured on this tee is a custom rendition of one of Steve Vai’s personal Pia Bon guitars, making this not just a shirt, but a wearable piece of guitar history.

In 2023, Ibanez released a limited run of Pia models with hand-painted finishes unlike anything seen before. After being crafted in Japan, each guitar arrived in the U.S. with a white base-coat, meticulously sanded in preparation for Bonviallan’s signature finishing process. Each swirl took approximately 10–12 hours of detailed work across 20 days, before being sent back to Fujigen in Japan for clear coats, final sanding, polishing, and assembly.

The result? A glow-in-the-dark masterpiece. The base coat contains phosphorescent pigment, while the vibrant pink pinstripe—dividing the front and back artwork—is both fluorescent and phosphorescent, glowing a bold orange in low light. Select pigments in the swirl are fluorescent too, making these guitars react under blacklight and glow subtly in the dark thanks to their semi-transparent layers.
